Ellen Blocks Maritime Funds

This paper has reliably learnt that President elect Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has ordered the withholding of Liberia's maritime funds until she takes over next January.

Sources could not give reasons for her action but said she directed the withholding of "all corporate and maritime revenues intended for 2005." The sources said Madam Sirleaf's order was directed to LISCR, which manages Liberia's maritime funds.
